He started his football career with the Brazil at the under twenty club. Later on he joined the national team as a winger. Having made 45, he has managed to score 7 goals at the national team level.
At the national team, his football career seemed to have upgrade as he was spotted by the foreign clubs. The midfielder made his first signing with the Corinthians in the year 2007 where he wore the number 10. Having made 20 appearances he managed to score twice. Thereafter, he moved to Shakhtar Donetsk between 2008- 2013, a five year contract. With 140 appearance the midfielder recorded 20 goals. On 31st January 2013, Willian moved Anzhi Makhachkala, where he wore the number 88. He led the club 3-0 win against Volga Nizhny Novgorod. He recorded 17 appearance and only managed a single goal due a long sustained injury when they were playing against Newcastle City.
On 25th August 2013, Willian signed his fourth move to his current football club, Chelsea, and signed a five year contract, receiving the number 22 jersey.

On 6th October, 2013 Willian made his first debut in Chelsea, when he scored away game with Norwich City resulting in a 3-0 win. He also led in 3-0 victory match against Southampton, on 1st January 2014.
Among his outshining matches, was the 4-0 trump win at Maccabi, making him Europe’s top free kick of the season. On 13th May 2016, he was named Chelsea Fans Player of the year and players’ player of the year for 2015-16.
His latest score was on 22nd April 2017, when he scored twice in Chelsea 4-2 FA Cup semi-finals victory over their Premier League rivals Totten hum hotspurs at Wembley stadium.
After his signing in Chelsea, with Jose Murinho as the coach, he proved his signing by emerging as the best first eleven players, as he always part of Mourinho starting line ups. After his career in the year 2015-16, he seemed to be improving further
